 During winter we can get a bit lazy, hibernating indoors in the warmth and eating all those naughty comfort foods. But don’t panic, because our bodies are amazing machines and IF GIVEN THE RIGHT CONDITIONS… CAN CLEAN UP OUR MESS! So spring is the perfect time to get ourselves looking and feeling great for the sunshine ahead.

Our skin is the first thing we look at when we start to peel off our layers of clothes, and it can often look a bit sad and dull! Did you know that skin is the largest organ of the body. Not only does it protect us and keep us warm, it is a mirror of our internal health.

 

Our skin also acts as a toxin eliminator, by excreting substances out through the skin, in various forms, like an odour or lumps, bumps, pustules and skin rashes. This is our body’s way of saying HELP….I need some TLC!!!

3 Simple Spring Detox Tips:
1.    Hydrate (the good old H2O)- Try to drink about 2 litres of water a day, but not with food, as this will interfere with the digestion and the absorption of nutrients. And make sure its filtered water. The easiest way to do this is to carry a drink bottle with you so you don’t get caught out.
2.    Hygiene- Cleanse and scrub goes a long way-Make the morning cleanse a very light one, (depending on your work schedule) and the evening one more thorough. It’s also a great idea to exfoliate once a week with a gentle scrub to give your skin a good clean out. Be careful not to over scrub though, as this can dry your lovely skin out and make it produce more oil. A salon facial once a month is a perfect maintance time frame and of course some ME time!
3.    Beauty Foods- get the good stuff in- Try to eat some of these ‘Beauty foods’ often: Salmon & tuna (and other types of oily fish), Olive oil & coconut oil, Avocado, Mangoes, carrots & sweet potatoes, Nuts and seeds (especially flaxseed, pepitas, almonds, brazil nuts and walnuts), Berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and pomegranate)
