TEENAGE ACNE usually begins with puberty. Acne is common in teenage years and may continue in about 15% of women into adulthood beyond the age of 25 years. In adolescence, acne is usually caused by an increase in testosterone during puberty in both males and females. For the most part, acne tends to reduce with age and often disappears by the age of 25. However, there is not good way to predict how long your acne will take to disappear entirely, and the problem may well persist into the 30s, 40s and beyond.
