Too often we think about mothers as being the ones who set standards, who lead the way, who are the role models. But in many ways, it is our children who have set the standards, who have taken the lead, and who have been our role models.
They are our strength when we are weak and our inspiration when we are discouraged.
Together we learn the importance of ‘being present’ for one another, whilst also ‘allowing’ the other the space needed to grow, to learn, to explore, and to experience all that life has to offer.
This Mother’s Day, I invite you to look at your relationship with your children. Ask yourself, “What have I learned from them?” Let them know how grateful you are that they chose you to be their mum so that you could both learn and teach.
We can all learn from one another. I truly believe that our children wish for our happiness as much as we wish happiness for them.
From one mum to another, Happy Mother’s Day
