Australia's Best Weight Management Program for 2015

We have all been there before - with events like weddings where glamour is set to reign, or a summer getaway where bikini bodies are flaunted, we’re tempted to do everything necessary to shed those unwanted kilos in time. But is choosing a crash diet over a healthy diet plan really the right decision? Research has indicated such dieting has a negative impact on your overall health, often unnoticeable for years.

But with so many new diets constantly hitting the market, which one do you choose? It has become slightly overwhelming figuring out which one will work best for you, and which ones are…well, just a fad! It is not too often though that you come across one that has been on the market for over 30 years.

Developed in the 80’s, the Cambridge Weight Plan has been specifically designed for the long term. There are six steps to the program ranging from 440 kcal (Step 1, Sole Source) to 1500+ kcal (Step 6, My Life); and they are all nutritionally balanced to provide your body’s must-have vitamins and minerals before guiding you back onto conventional foods with better and healthier meal plans.

Step 1 can be used as the sole source of nutrition for fast, predictable weight loss with nutritional assurance. It starts you off on a very low calorie diet for a maximum of 12 weeks (BMI allowing) and consists of three Cambridge products a day – and that’s it! As simples as that.

Although replacing a meal with nothing but shakes, bars, soup and porridge may sound scary and off-putting, the meal replacements are stuffed full with the vitamins and minerals you need to stay healthy. In fact, your three (or more) products a day give you the Recommended Daily Allowance of vitamins and minerals, so you can rest-assured that you can lose weight safely.

Each consecutive step involves gradually increasing your daily calorie intake and intake of conventional foods for a more gradual weight loss or weight maintenance and nutritional supplementation.

What do I like best about Cambridge?

The fact that all you need to do is add water! Sometimes we skip meals or turn to fast foods because we are restricted by time; but one of the biggest and most important elements of the Cambridge Weight Plan (and health in general) is water consumption. The plan recommends a minimum of 2.25 liters a day, which you will easily reach by adding water to your Cambridge products (so simple!) and drinking a few more glasses a day. Water will not only help you feel fuller, it will also help reduce any side-effects such as headaches – plus, it will literally wash all your fat away!
